You can manage Projetex Database Server and see its status on the Database Server tab of the Projetex Server Administrator. Database Server tab provides general information on Firebird server used by Projetex, as well as some basic options.
Status: By default the status is ON immediately after installation. Each time you boot (or reboot) Windows®, Firebird Database Server starts automatically.
You can run or close Projetex 7.0 Server Administrator and it will not influence the status of the Firebird Database Server itself, unless you explicitly stop or start it. See Starting and Stopping Database Server for more details on Server Start/Stop operations.
Location: In Projetex 7.0 location of Server is always localhost, i.e. System Administrator software indicates that it is running on the same PC where Firebird Database Server is installed. We can add the support of remote administration of Firebird Database Server in future versions if there are enough requests for this feature.
Version: Version of Firebird Database Server, which was installed together with Projetex 7.0 Server software. At the time of writing version is: WI–V1.5.3.4870 Firebird 1.5, which deciphered as Windows® platform, version 1.5.3, Build 4870. It is not recommended to install newer versions of Firebird Database Server unless there is an explicit recommendation to do this from Projetex 7.0 Support. We will thoroughly test all future versions of Firebird, their proper functioning with Projetex 7.0 Server and Workstation software, and will consider all pros and cons before recommending upgrade. Voluntary upgrades may cause unstable operation of Projetex 7.0 software and will make support more difficult.
Connections: This string displays the total number of current connections to Firebird server. Not all of them necessarily are the connections from Projetex 7.0 Workstation. Click List button to view the list of these connections in a separate window.
