The following guidelines describe the most basic working procedures in Projetex 7.0, such as:
Setting currencies and services
Creating client database
Creating quotes and projects
Creating jobs
Assigning experts
Managing invoices, purchase orders and payments

1. Setting currencies and services. Having installed Projetex 7.0 please take a moment to set the system up for your business. Newly installed Projetex 7.0 will not have all the currencies you need. However, all required currencies can be quickly added to the database. Also, you many need to adjust your base currency.
Note: "Base currency" is the currency in which you prefer to keep your accounts. For more information about base currency, please refer to Multi-Currency Support topic.
To enter new currencies:
| • | Run Projetex 7.0 Workstation, click menu Settings > Corporate. |
| • | Click Currencies to open currencies section of Corporate Settings menu. |
| • | Click New button to create a new currency record. |
| • | Enter new currency Descriptive Name and 3-letter abbreviation in the New Currency window. |
To change your base currency (Administrator only):
| • | Run Projetex 7.0 Server Administrator, switch to Database tab and click Go offline button. |
| • | Click Corporate Settings tab, and select General. |
| • | Click Base Currency button and select your base currency. |
Services in Projetex 7.0 can vary from "translation from source to target language" to more unusual ones line "training" or "consulting". You can enter services of any type in Projetex 7.0 Workstation Corporate Settings.
To add a service (language pairs translation, proofreading, DTP and so on):
| • | Run Projetex 7.0 Workstation, click menu Settings > Corporate. |
| • | Click Services section and enter new service by clicking New button. |

2. Creating client database. There are two ways to fill your database of clients: entering all the clients manually or importing them from a file. Also, if you own Translation Office 3000 — you can quickly import your clients (along with all other data) from TO3000 database.
To enter new client manually:
| • | Click menu New... > Client. |
| • | Follow the steps of New Client Wizard. |
To import client database from a file:
| • | Run Projetex7Setup.exe and install Projetex 7.0 Import Utility. |
| • | Run Projetex 7.0 Import Utility and proceed with import process. |

To import client database from your Translation Office 3000:
| • | Download TO3000 to Projetex Import Utility using the following link: |

| • | Run TO3000toProjetex.exe and install TO3000 to Projetex Import Utility. |
| • | Run TO3000 to Projetex Import Utility, select version of TO3000 to import from, and proceed with import process. |
Note: TO3000, which database you intend to use for import must be installed on the same PC as Projetex 7.0 Server.

3. Creating quotes and projects. Quotes and projects can be created using Quotes tab of Client window and Main tab of Project window respectively. A project can also be created using data from certain quote.
To create a quote:
| • | Open Clients section of Navigation panel and click Client icon. |
| • | Click New Quote button, to begin creating new quote. |
To create a project:
| • | Open Projects section of Navigation panel and click Project icon. |
| • | Click New Project button, to begin creating new project. |

4. Creating jobs. In Projetex 7.0 any project consists of a number of jobs. A job represents a certain amount (characters, words, hours, custom units) of certain service (like translation from source to target language), assigned on certain date and having a deadline. There are two types of jobs in Projetex 7.0 — client jobs and expert jobs. The quickest way to create jobs is to do so in the Tree tab of Project window. To create client, corporate and freelance jobs:
| • | Open Projects section of Navigation panel and click Project icon. |
| • | Click Main tab and select a project. |
| • | Right-click the Project icon at the top of the Tree view and select New Client Job in the context drop-down menu. |
| • | Right-click any Client Job in the Tree view and select New Corporate Job or New Freelance Job in the context drop-down menu. |

5. Assigning experts. Corporate and freelance jobs in Projetex 7.0 must be assigned to certain experts (corporate experts and freelancers accordingly) before they can be marked as "Completed". The quickest way to assign experts is to use tree view of a project available on the Tree tab of Project window.
To assign corporate expert or freelancer:
| • | Open Projects section of Navigation panel and click Project icon. |
| • | Click Main tab and select a project. |
| • | Right-click a corporate or a freelance job and select Edit option in the context menu. |
| • | Click Select button and choose an expert for this job in the Expert Chooser dialog window and click OK. |
To remove corporate expert or freelancer from a job:
| • | Open Projects section of Navigation panel and click Project icon. |
| • | Click Main tab and select a Project. |
| • | Right-click a corporate or a freelance job and select Edit option in the context menu. |
| • | Click None button to unassign currently assigned expert. |

6. Issuing invoices and purchase orders. Projetex 7.0 can be used to quickly issue, edit and delete invoices to clients, purchase orders to freelancers and link them with payments consistent project account balance picture.
To create an invoice to client:
| • | Open Clients section of Navigation panel and click Client icon. |
| • | Click Main tab and select a client. |
| • | Add required client jobs, select markups and discounts, and click Apply button. |
To issue a purchase order:
| • | Open Projects section of Navigation panel and click Project icon. |
| • | Click Main tab and select a project. |
