Projetex Privacy statement

Last updated: 2025.02.07

1. Introduction

Projetex values your privacy and is committed to protecting your data. This Privacy Statement explains how we handle, store, and protect your information when using the OAuth2 integration for Google, Outlook, and other SMTP providers in Projetex.

By using this feature, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Statement.

2. Data Collection & Usage

2.1. OAuth2 Authentication & Permissions
Projetex uses OAuth2 authentication to enable SMTP email sending. The application requests only the minimum necessary permissions:

  • Google SMTP: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send
  • Outlook SMTP: https://outlook.office.com/SMTP.Send
  • Other SMTP Providers: OAuth2 scopes as required by the respective provider

Projetex does not read, access, or store emails from your email provider. It only sends emails using the authenticated SMTP account.

2.2. Storage of OAuth2 Tokens

  • OAuth2 tokens are securely stored within the application.
  • These tokens are used only for SMTP authentication and are not shared with any third parties.
  • Users can revoke OAuth2 access at any time from their email provider’s security settings.

2.3. What Projetex Does Not Collect
Projetex does not:

  • Store your email content
  • Access your inbox or email history
  • Collect any personally identifiable information beyond what is required for SMTP authentication

3. Data Security & Protection

3.1. Secure Data Storage

  • All OAuth2 tokens and authentication credentials are encrypted and stored securely.
  • Projetex follows industry best practices to prevent unauthorized access to stored credentials.

3.2. Data Transmission Security

  • All communication between Projetex and your email provider occurs over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL).
  • No credentials are sent or stored in plain text.

4. User Control & Revocation

Users have full control over their OAuth2 authentication:

  • Revoke Access Anytime: You can remove Projetex’s OAuth2 permissions from your Google, Outlook, or SMTP provider settings.
  • Delete Tokens: You can remove your SMTP settings from Projetex at any time, which also deletes associated OAuth2 tokens.

For revoking OAuth2 permissions:

5. Compliance with Third-Party Policies

Projetex complies with:

6. Third-Party Services & Limitations

Projetex relies on third-party SMTP services (Google, Outlook, and other providers). Users must adhere to their provider’s terms and email sending limits. Projetex is not responsible for service interruptions caused by third-party providers.

7. Changes to This Privacy Statement

We may update this Privacy Statement as needed to reflect changes in security practices, legal requirements, or third-party API policies. Continued use of the Projetex SMTP feature after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Statement.
