Google Shortening URL: Excessive Technology In Action

After sending out the recent message to you I have received a lot of feedback that links suddenly stopped working.

That exactly illustrates my point about technology.

I have used Google URL shortening service  (technology!) for your convenience but it has done more harm than good.

While links were more readable when shortened, they have stopped working after first hundred clicks.

And I could not reach Google for any answer about that. The only remedy they have suggested is posting issue in their newsgroups. Look what message I have got when trying to do this:

Google error 500

Too many robots, too little human thought. Monopoly in action. Nobody needs Yahoo-human edited directory these days, just bulk results from the robot 🙂 We can abandon thinking alltogether and press I’m feeling lucky button (Hey, robot, do the choice for me). URL shortening service is no exception and it has mistakengly recognized URLs from Translation3000 Newsletter as false positives to overload their servers.

Thank you for many letters pointing out that links are not working. I will send the corrected message almost immediately. Without awkward intermediaries this time 🙂
